Food Food Food

This short piece is dedicated to a food blog by one of our cell member's hubby. Very interesting and yummy... (you will be salivating when you go through the pictures of the food... guarantee!)

The URL is http://tailim.blogspot.com/

Go on, you will fin more in there than just food... hee hee hee!

Thanks for sharing this with us sister Jo!

June Babies

Last night, we celebrated the June babies in our midst after our 4 Ws (Welcome, Worship, Word, Works). As it turned out, it was really "babies" that we had in our midst who had their birthdays in June. Both these babies, Clarisse and Josh, turned 6. Children in our midst are just as much part of our cell meetings - so if you are reading this and have young kids, do consider joining God's Call, if you have not found a cell yet in SIBKL. Our fearless leaders are brother Chin Kiang and sister Joey. Or you can leave your email address in our comment box or chat box for us to contact you. We do look forward to welcoming you to our midst.

Ok, I'll let the pictures tell the story of the celebration.
Enjoy.

Beautifully lit birthday cake.

Everyone singing birthday songs... yes, including the one that goes, "May the good Lord bless you...."

We were so blessed to have our very own missionary, bro Kum Hong, to pray for these 'babies'.

Finally, the cake cutting!

(The pictures ends here as the photographer also wanted to eat the yummy foods that all had prepared... Bon A petite!)

Cell Duties (or rather Cell Privileges)

Hello all!
It's a privilege to serve our loving and mighty God. We have now incorporated the cell's duty roster on the left hand side of this blog. Do check it out to see when you will have the privilege to serve.

Remember, we serve not because we are doing God a favour or earn brownie points...
We serve because he served us first!

150 minutes

Time runs and never stops. The hands of the analog clock goes round without an end whilst the digital clock has its liquid crystals charging and discharging to produce intelligible numerals. Time waits for no one, so the saying goes.

What are we on about?
From now on, we will take better charge of time in our cell meetings. Our target to start our cell meetings will be 8:30pm on Fridays with an end at 11:00pm. This will give us 2 and a half hours of meeting together or to put it in minutes, 150 minutes of meeting of souls.

We would like to encourage everyone to fully realise these 150 minutes of our lives on Fridays. 150 minutes that are set aside to worship together, to read His Word and discuss topics of interest together, to support one another in prayer and to fellowship with one another over fantastic foods!

150 minutes of dynamic interaction with God and with men (and women la... figure of speech). It's an investment of our time; a choice we make to meet, greet and inspire. So let's not short change ourselves of these 150 minutes.

Be blessed (incomplete truth if you stop reading right here......)
and let God be glorified (this is why we are who we are, where we are)!

Cat and Dog Theology!

A dog says: "You pet me, you feed me, you
shelter me, you love me, You must be God.
"

A cat says: "You pet me, you feed me, you
shelter me, you love me, I must be God.
"

After an interesting series on Cat and Dog..
So, are we serving God, or "pray" for God to serve us ?
Are we living for God's glory or living for ourselves....

A Prayer Of Repentance

For thinking life was about us and not You,
For advancing our kingdom and not Yours,
For seeking Your blessings more than You,
For an incomplete Christianity,
For mixed-up priorities,
For living for ourselves in a Christian context,
For not seeing Your glory all around us.

We repent. Fill us again with your Holy Spirit that
we might live to make You famous.
Amen..
